Housing completions in both single-family and multi family units have increased year-over-year by 14.1% and 39.3%, respectively. The West saw the second greatest year-to-year jump of the four regions being 14.8% greater than 2023, only trailing the Midwest, who rose by 18.3%. "Although housing starts declined in October, builder sentiment improved for a third straight month in November as builders anticipate an improved regulatory environment in 2025 that will allow the industry to increase housing supply," said Carl Harris, chairman of the NAHB. Additionally, the association recognized that multifamily apartment construction was outpacing the number of multifamily starts by nearly double.
