The Irrigation Association (IA) released a statement in support of the recently passed tax and domestic spending bill, also known as the "Big Beautiful Bill." It includes provisions supported by the association, particularly in the workforce sector, capital investment, and business tax relief.

 

Legislation like the 529 Expansion for Certifications, R&D Expensing, Full Equipment Deductibility, Fair Interest Deductibility, and 199A Deduction Enhancement. Each of these provisions allow for more education, income deductions, irrigation system investment and more.

"This bill marks a significant step forward in advancing tax provisions that directly benefit the irrigation industry-especially small, family-owned businesses across the agricultural, landscape and water management sectors," said Nathan Bowen, the IA's vice president, policy and industry advancement. "We're pleased to see key irrigation industry priorities reflected in the House package, and we'll continue advocating for their inclusion in the final version."
