Hotel Indigo is part of W.C. Bradley's Riverfront Place mixed-use development in Columbus, Georgia. W.C. Bradley engaged Landscape Architect Jessica Ezzell to design the outdoor amenities for the hotel as well as the adjoining Mat Swift Park. The hotel's pool and dining terraces overlook the Chattahoochee River and the world's longest urban whitewater rafting course. In addition to the expansive river views, the dining terrace overlooks the adjacent park with sculptures by Jeremy Thomas and a magical, illuminated fountain arch. The retaining wall adjacent to the Columbus Riverwalk, which borders the hotel property, serves as a rotating public art gallery featuring work from local artists.
The upcoming Resort and Hotel Development Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. This project was not chosen for a Feature in the issue, but we at LandscapeArchitect.com thought the project deserved to be showcased online . . .
