Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving to encourage philanthropy. Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) to inspire people to collaborate in improving their communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

"HRI is funded by hundreds of green industry philanthropists and businesses," explains John Coulter, HRI president. "Participating in #GivingTuesday "?(R)? will assist HRI in raising the needed funds to provide effective, efficient and relevant solutions for green industry businesses."

HRI www.hriresearch.org, founded in 1962, has provided more than $7 million in funds to research projects covering a broad range of production, environmental and business issues important to the green industry. Nearly $11 million is committed to the endowment by individuals, corporations and associations.
