If you are a landscape contractor or landscape architect that works with highways, roadways and departments of transportation, then you often have to deal with weed control. Many new projects released for bidding include requests for WeedEnder, a vegetation control product.

U-TECK can help eliminate the need for herbicide use and string trimming with WeedEnder. This product made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled materials, prevents unwanted vegetation growth by depriving root systems of sun, yet still allowing water and nutrients to move through the fiber. ?????EUR??,,?EUR

Normally, plastic bottles along the side of a highway are considered litter and must be picked up. But an experiment on I-135 in Wichita, Kansas used a roadside weed barrier material made from 100 percent post-consumer plastic bottles.

WeedEnder deprives vegetation of sunlight yet allows water to infiltrate. It is available in rolls one to six feet wide in a 250-foot roll. It has been used in other areas of the country and has been found to be resistant to degradation by ultra-violet light. It also has a life span of at least 15 years.

Each mile of WeedEnder keeps 50,000 bottles from entering landfills and may prove to be a good labor-saving green solution along highways.
