Heidi Kost-Gross Wins 2010 Landscape Design Council Award




At the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts' annual meeting in Mansfield, Mass. on May 26, vice chairman of the Landscape Design Council, Joan Butler (right), presented the Landscape Design Council Award for Excellence in recognition of outstanding civic accomplishment to landscape designer Heidi Kost-Gross.

The Landscape Design Council (LDC) of Massachusetts announced that Heidi Kost-Gross, landscape designer and Natural Resources Commissioner for the town of Wellesley, is the recipient of the 2010 Landscape Design Council Award for Excellence, given in recognition of outstanding civic accomplishment.

"Heidi Kost-Gross has been a tireless and effective contributor to the Landscape Design Council," said Joan Butler, LDC vice chairman, who presented the award at the annual meeting of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (GCFM). "She is past chairman of the GCFM's Landscape Design Study Program. Her leadership and talents are valued assets to many groups."

A landscape architect more than 15 years, Kost-Gross is principal of G/S Associates. Kost-Gross serves as president of the New England Landscape Design and History Association (NELDHA) and is first vice president of the GCFM. In 2010 she finishes a three-year term on the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the NE Farm and Garden Association, Inc.

Kost-Gross earned graduate certificates in Landscape Design History and Landscape Design from the Radcliffe Seminars of Harvard University (now the Landscape Institute of the Boston Architectural College). She has been awarded four Gold Medals from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
