SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - The Tony Hawk Foundation announced that Activision, Inc. a worldwide developer, publisher and distributor of video games and other interactive entertainment products, has donated $50,000 to the Tony Hawk Foundation. The funding will be used to assist the foundation's efforts to finance and promote public skateboarding parks.

A charitable, non-profit organization, the Tony Hawk Foundation was established by its namesake, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, to promote and provide funds for high-quality public skateparks throughout the United States.

"We recognize the positive social impact that skateboarding has made on youth culture," said Robert Kotick, Chairman and CEO, Activision, Inc. "This contribution is part of Activision's ongoing commitment to action sports and to providing teens with safe, fun entertainment experiences, whether they are in their homes or catching air on a vert ramp."

The Tony Hawk Foundation was established by an endowment from Tony Hawk. It's directors plan to raise additional funds through events, industry donations and continuing grants from Tony and other entities.
