Founded in 2006 in Philadelphia by David Fierabend, Groundswell Design Group is a multidisciplinary design studio to explore the place-making potentials of hospitality and public space design. Now in its twelfth year, Groundswell employs 20 landscape architects, architects, interior designers and urban designers. Across the country, Groundswell's projects employ adaptive reuse and repurposing practices to seamlessly blend social interiors with their verdant landscapes beyond. Notable projects include: Spruce Street Harbor Park along Philadelphia's Delaware River Waterfront, Aimee Olexy's Talula's Garden in Philadelphia, Peter Woolsey's La Peg brasserie in Philadelphia, Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Distillery and visitor center in Denver and Hangar One Vodka distillery and visitor center in Alameda, California.
