In LAND's article, Wilson said, "Together, we have a real opportunity to elevate the voice of landscape architecture, to show how our work heals places, connects people, and resorts harmony between the built environment and the natural world." She continued that she "[feels] called even more to lead in a way that emphasizes our role in protecting communities through resilient, regenerative design."

When contacted by LASN, Wilson shared, "I'd love for more Landscape Architects to feel connected to ASLA. The more of us who come together, the stronger we are in advocating for our profession and shaping the future of the field for everyone doing this amazing work."

These sentiments echo the desire Wilson emphasized during the election to increase the awareness of the profession with various groups like students, policymakers, and the general public, believing ASLA central to this mission.

Gretchen Wilson is a co-founder of Dig Studio in Denver, Colorado, where she has helped grow the practice to three studios across the western United States. In her home state, she has been active in the ASLA Colorado/Wyoming Chapter and in her work focusing on the public sector.
