Grasspave2 Widens Fire Lane in Toronto






Sand is being filled into the empty Grasspave2 system at Downsville Park in Toronto.. The rings of the Grasspave2 are just visible with the sand fill. A worker places the thin-cut sod on top of the sand filled Grasspave2.

Landscape Architects PMA designed a full width fire lane with only half the concrete. Grasspave2 was used to widen the Downsville Park fire lane in Toronto, Canada. Back in December 2012, there was 8,180 square feet of Invisible Stuctures was installed at the corner of Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

Widening of the fire lane with Grasspave2 was the first choice of the firm. The concrete sidewalk, installed by TBG Landscape, became a full-width fire lane – to meet code.
