The City of Glendale, Arizona has a landscape ordinance that pays particular attention to street views, setting minimum standards for the planting of trees and shrubs and the construction of contours and berms along street frontages. One tree and three shrubs are required for each 30 feet of street frontage, and vegetative ground cover must occupy a minimum of 60 percent of the total street frontage landscape area. Parking areas must contain at least one landscaped planter of 200 square feet for every ten parking spaces provided on the site.
