Get Down to Business at the 2010 Landscape Expo

If you’re a business owner, manager or hold any position that involves recommending, specifying, authorizing or purchasing products and equipment for your company, then attending the 2010 Landscape Expo in Long Beach, is something you must do.

Only one month away, the Expo will open its doors on October 6 – 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. This year marks the show’s 50th Anniversary.

With an exhibit area of over three-acres, hundreds of exhibiting companies with products and equipment ranging from plant & fertilizer materials to mowers and trucks will be ready to show their stuff and talk serious business.

With the opportunity to meet face-to-face with vendors, the Expo is a place where deals can be made and business relationships formed. The show offers you a one-stop shopping opportunity, which can save you enormous amounts of time in researching products, equipment and services. And, as the cliché’ goes, “Time is money.” Of course, it’s not entirely all about the exhibits. The show is also about expanding your industry knowledge and skills and even having a little fun.

More than 45 educational seminars are available in eight tracks including Landscape Design, Sustainability, Tree & Turf Care, Outdoor Living, Contractor Specific Techniques, Irrigation, and Adding Profit Centers. These seminars qualify for various CEUs including PAPA, APLD, CLT, ISA and LACES.

Expand your insight about the status of the industry by attending the SCC/ASLA and CLASS Fund’s panel discussion 2011—Thoughts on What Lies Ahead: A compact overview of the future from experts in construction, design, irrigation and public sectors on Oct. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Hyatt. Then hang around for a while networking with friends and colleagues at the after-show party that immediately follows the panel discussion.

There will also be special displays like a 12’ x 7’ living wall by Scott Hutcheon, of Seasons Landscaping in Laguna Beach, Calif. Hutcheon is a licensed landscape architect and living wall expert who has appeared on national television, including the Martha Stewart show, and is giving a seminar on that very subject on Thursday, Oct. 7th at 1:30 p.m.—The Nature of Nature™.

Go back in time, and follow 50 years of landscaping in Southern California when you visit a special exhibit by the SCTC, featuring historical memorabilia and an antique tractor display.

The Expo offers something for everyone in the industry, including landscape architects and others involved in the design aspect of the industry. The exhibit floor now includes design elements and 34 of the seminars offered are also important for design-oriented professionals.

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet with representatives from various associations and organizations like Project Evergreen’s GreenCare for Troops. Who knows? You just might want to volunteer your landscaping services to help out a military family in need. While you’re there, get a free photo taken with Orange County Chopper’s famous Patriot Chopper, which they custom built for the Army National Guard.
