Garden Symposium Colonial Williamsburg Garden Exhibition WILLIAMSBURG, VA Join top designers and garden enthusiasts at the 1999 Colonial Williamsburg Garden Symposium as attendees explore the basics of traditional and modern garden design, and define the skills needed to bring cohesion and unity to gardens of all sizes and dimensions. Featured speakers and visiting gardeners will address the design of unique and historical garden spaces, both large and small. Explore the unlimited possibilities of dynamic gardens at the symposium, scheduled for March 28-31, 1999 on the renowned grounds of Colonial Williamsburg. Featured presentations include: "Landscapes of Place: Deep Meaning in Design," by Landscape Architect Isabelle Greene; "Garden Design Basics," by M. Kent Brinkley, FASLA; "Designing Small Gardens," by Landscape Architect Pat Merson; "The Artist and the Public Garden, "by Val Tibbey, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at Temple University; "Of Time and Place: Designing Gardens for the 21st Century," by Darrel Morrison, Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia, Athens; and a "Master Class on Colonial Garden Design," taught by Landscape Architects Kent Brinkley and Gordon Chappell.
