From The Publisher July 1999 As summer hits us full force, LASN is moving upwards and onwards . . . Literally . . . . LASN is Moving . . . . That's right, after seven years at the Brookhollow Office complex, LASN has purchased a new office in the city of Tustin, California. A whole three miles from the old place, the new facility is full of modernizations that will assist us in presenting to you an even better magazine in the years ahead. The phone numbers will remain the same: Ph - 714-979-LASN [5276] Fx - 714-979-3543 The new address is: 14771 Plaza Drive, Suite "M" Tustin, CA 92780 E-Mail addresses are posted on the masthead found to the right or you can reach us through the web at "www.landcapeonline.com." A New Addition to the LASN Family Trevor Glenn Lebus, a 9-lb bouncing baby boy, was recently born to LASN's own Heather Lebus. Mother and child are resting at home and we're still waiting on word as to when Heather may be returning to her editorial duties . . . . Other New Faces at LASN . . . With Heather out on maternity leave and Kay Tiller resting in the arms of the creator, LASN has added two new editorial staffers to the team. Jason Hill, who comes to us from a long line of journalists, photographers and creative writers, has worked with the Los Angeles Times and other newspapers since 1991. Marisol Zubizarreta also joins LASN, bringing with her radio and television reporting experience and a Latin flair, as her last assignment was with the NAB Award Winning Megacadena de Comunicacion of Paraguay, South America. BPA Audit . . . LASN has spent the past few years working to upgrade its circulation and demographic profiling of you -- the LASN readership -- and will be the first Landscape Architectural magazine to provide advertisers with a BPA Audit (the most respected independent circulation audit company in the world.) This audit verifies both LASN's circulation numbers and demographic profiling. In other words, when LASN says we get a list of every landscape architect from each state every year, you don't have to believe us, you can now believe the BPA. As many of you have probably noticed, this circulation reporting has been a sore spot between LASN and the ASLA, as we have accused ASLA of less than accurate reporting of their numbers, especially the ones pertaining to Landscape Architects and their competitive stance against LASN. Now we've decided to let the audit company do our boasting for us. Hopefully ASLA will come clean and get their own audit, and yes . . . that is an official challenge . . . . [A side note: LASN has spent the past couple of months working overtime upgrading the software, the hardware, and the records, to make sure every record is absolutely accurate and thus have experienced an occasional hiccup. If you we've been affected, please accept our humblest apologies . . . .
