Free Excavation Safety Guide Offered




The Common Ground Alliance (CGA) was created in 2000 to prevent accidental pipeline ruptures. They manage 811, the national number landscape contractors and others can call to have utility lines marked before any excavation work begins.

The Pipeline Association for Public Awareness has recently published a free guide designed to help avoid dangerous situations associated with job site excavations.

Some key tips mentioned by the association include calling 811 and waiting the 24 to 72 hours required. Another is to pothole or hand dig to determine exact pipeline locations before proceeding further with excavation.
