The American Society of Golf Course Architects has published a new Golf Course Development Planning Guide. The 16-page booklet is written as a primer, to simplify the complicated development process for municipal officials and members of review boards, course owner-investors, course superintendents, golf professionals, and design consultants who are pursuing new golf course projects. Included are sections on assessing consumer demands, selecting a site and assistance, projecting construction costs in general and operating costs at a daily fee course, and obtaining financing.
