LAKE FOREST, Calif. - Focus Industries, a 13-year manufacturer of outdoor lighting products, recently announced a new addition to its production facilities. Focus has added a state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly powder-coating operation. Previously the company had used an outside vendor to do their powder coating, the new system increases efficiency and quality control. The powder coat operation involves changing the colors and textures within minutes by providing a process of painting die-cast aluminum, brass and copper products. It also leaves metals with a protective coating that guards against harsh elements. Castings and parts are placed into a seven-stage washer and through solutions that clean and prepare them for adhesion and curing. Powder particulars are finely misted and cling to metals electrostatically. The final curing takes place in an oven, followed by cooling and packaging. When the powder-coating process is completed, the parts are ready for assembly. Focus offers the following finishes: Black (Gloss or Textured), White (Gloss or Textured), Camel, Weathered Iron, Bronze, Weathered Brown, Hunter, Antique Verde, Rub Verde, Rust, & Stucco.
