Over the last 20 years, John Powers has led his team in over 4,000 projects representing over $900 million in construction. This team of skilled architects has advanced understanding and experience in design and planning techniques that incorporate the latest technological innovation and style. General Description: Taylor Woodrow Community, 485-acre community

Design Elements: Winding entrance with paver, dry stacked stone bridges with custom gates at clubhouse, entrance sign and architectural wall with water fumes spilling into feature lakes, vernacular turnaround at clubhouse. Pool and recreation area and clubhouse facilities include fountain, walking paths, and shade structures, strategic land planning incorporating existing pines and live oaks, specimen live oaks up to 40 feet were professionally transplanted.

Awards: American Society of Landscape Architect, 2003 Landscape Architecture Design Award; Aurora Award for Florida Home Builders Association and The Southeast Building Conference for Landscape Design Residential Development.

General Information: The Ginn Company Development, a 1,000-acre beachside resort community, golf course resort themed landscaping

Design Elements: three outdoor pools, main pool incorporates an upper level pool cascading via two 15-foot waterfalls to lower pool, three story waterslide, and a lazy river; the lazy river hosts nearly 100 hand picked curved Sable Palms; park amenity features 180 degree views across the 18th hole overlooking the ocean; professional 18 hole putting course; Bermuda grass event lawn; oversight has minimum six foot to max 12 foot wide paths with concrete pavers, shade pavilions, and custom walls and columns at every major entrance; sand volley ball courts and lounge chairs simulate the beach.

General Description: PD completed a $1.5 million entrance and a $3.5 million clubhouse and an award-winning fountain; PCP is an upscale $275 million waterfront community in Flagler County.

Design Elements: Coastal vernacular with plantation-style architecture (theme); feature pond with custom waterfall and development sign; entrance walls and columns have custom medallion logos and cast stone caps; clubhouse entrance hosts existing specimen live oaks, special care was given in design providing permeable paver systems to ensure growth of the oaks; amenities at clubhouse include a spa, pool with swim lanes, boardwalk at existing emerald lake, event lawn, tennis, bocce ball, croquette and basketball courts.

Eagle Harbor at Fleming Island, Clay County, Fla.

Awards: Grande Aurora Award

Design Elements: Florida vernacular golf course community; pool with swim lanes, kids fun pool and waterslide tower, shade pavilions, and spa; winding paver entrance boarded by feature ponds; development sign is placed on island with custom arching bridge; feature ponds host multiple fountain systems; focus on saving existing vegetation highlighting existing live oaks, pine stands and areas of mixed hardwoods.
