Equestrian Facility, North San Diego
Krizan Associates provided design/build services for a remodel of the entry to this 500-acre equestrian facility. The facility had unsightly overgrown vegetation, and a water feature not visible to entering traffic. Krizan remodeled the entryway, creating a water feature with a series of seven cascades and pools that blended into the landscape with riparian vegetation. The water feature uses natural principles to filter and maintain water chemistry, providing a low maintenance, yet visually appealing feature.

Private Residence, Point Loma, Calif.
Full landscape design services were provided for the private residence of a family that desired a fun outdoor space. This single-family residence overlooking San Diego Bay maintains an elegant yet simple street façade. The building hides a lush retreat defined by a 16-ft. high retaining wall along the rear property line. The posterior landscape includes a waterfall spa with an underground cavern-like grotto, imported stone paving and whimsical lighting.
