Fire Station Recycled to Build Park

An old fire station in Missoula will be recycled to build an ampitheater in Triangle Square Park

An old fire station in Missoula, Montana has been torn down to build a bigger one, but many parts of the original building are being salvaged to be used towards the reconstruction of Triangle Park, directly across the street. The park, up until now, has mainly consisted of two 500 square-foot pie slices of blank asphalt.

Tim Skufca, manager of the demolition of the 53-year-old station and the Triangle Park project says that they first have to wait to see what material survives. ?EUR??,,????'?????<

The group plans to use the cleaned brick to pave a labyrinth and build a small ampitheater in the park. The ampitheater will be 45 feet in diameter and sunken two feet, including a handicap-access ramp and informal bleachers. Drought-resistant native plants will be placed around it.

The current project follows has been aided by a $3,000 grant from Missoula?EUR??,,????'?????<
