Jim Figurski, a principal with GreenWorks, P.C., since 2000, was appointed president of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) Sept. 9, 2006 during the CLARB annual meeting in San Antonio.

Figurski served as the CLARB vice president the past year. He takes over for Gregg Sturtevant of Wallowa, Oregon.

CLARB, of course, is the national body that establishes standards for education, experience and examination required for the professional licensure of landscape architects.

?EUR??,,????'??I?EUR??,,????'???m proud to lead the incredible bunch of volunteers that serve CLARB and eager to work with an equally incredible staff,?EUR??,,????'?? commented Figurski. He said he looks forward to the opportunity to improve services to exam candidates, the state and provincial licensing boards and working on issues of mutual concern with the various national groups affiliated with the landscape architecture profession: the American Society of Landscape Architects, Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, National Council of Examiners in Engineering and Surveyors and National Council of Interior Design Qualification.

Figurski earned a B.A. in landscape architecture from the University of Oregon and has over 25 years of landscape architecture experience. From 1989 to 2000, Figurski provided design and project management services as a landscape architect for the Portland Parks and Recreation Bureau. Figurski is the technical director for GreenWorks, which specializes in ?EUR??,,????'??artistic urban stormwater?EUR??,,????'?? projects.
