Few Candidates Pass Certified Landscape Technician Testing

In August 2003, the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA) introduced the Associated Landscape Contractors of America's (ALCA) Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) exam for the first time at the Penn State-Berks Campus in Reading, Pa. This event was so popular that PLNA brought it back for the second year to the same campus. Testing took place on August 20 and 21, 2004. In 2003, 28 candidates were tested, and in 2004 sixty candidates underwent a series of written and hands-on testing throughout the two days in order to become certified in one of three modules: Installation, Maintenance or Irrigation. Only seven candidates passed the test this year. PLNA praises the efforts of more than 100 volunteers and staff for another successful year. For more information on certification contact your local ALCA chapter.
