Raymond F. Cain graduated from the University of Illinois in 1952 with a BALA and again in 1962 with a MLA. He has contributed to the goals of the ASLA by seeing as their treasurer, secretary, and vice president in the late 60s. In 1980 he received the ASLA Honor award and the national AAN Merit Award. This lead to his induction as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1982.
