Lane L. Marshall graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1976 and Oklahoma State University in 1980. He has diligently worked to improve communities by efficiently using the open space provided within them. He has been very successful in this and in 1977 he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Florida, Dept. of Landscape Architecture. This lead to his induction as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1978.
