Courtland P. Paul was very successful in landscape architecture in the southern California region in places such as Irvine, Mission Viejo and Lake Forest. He landscaping career was split between design on his later years and contracting in his youth. He became a founding member of the AILA when he was only 27 years of age. Over his many years in landscape architecture he was apart of he Committee of Landscape Architectural Student Scholarships Fund (CLASS) and was also the president of the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) for several years. Much of the advancement in landscape architecture over the past several decades came from his hard work and teachings.
