As a landscape architect and educator with a particular emphasis on bioregional planning and design in the American West, Richard Toth has authored more than 30 articles and research papers. He was among the first to develop interactive computer landscape modeling. From the beginning of his career at Penn State with Ian McHarg to his commitment to responsible, inspired planning, he's been dedicated to the culture and traditions of landscape stewardship. Hundreds of landscape architects have looked to him for mentorship. His outreach to communities, government bodies and environmental organizations have likewise engaged people outside the profession in regional planning and respect for landscapes.
