Most notable professional accomplishments: Advocating and integrating the sciences of conservation biology, landscape ecology and restoration ecology with landscape architecture in a meaningful way to conserve biological diversity, restore habitat and regenerate the human spirit. ???????(R)?EUR??,,????'?EUR??,,?EUR I am also very honored and humbled to have exceptionally talented, skilled and passionate people who have invested their careers in working for Biohabitats Inc. (design and consulting firm) and Ecological Restoration & Management, Inc., (ER&M, contracting firm), two companies I started in 1982. ???????(R)?EUR??,,????'?EUR??,,?EUR Thanks to them, Biohabitats and ER&M are demonstrating that there is an important role for conservation planning, ecological restoration and regenerative design in landscape architecture.

Thoughts on being elected to the Council of Fellows: I feel my election to Fellowship is a recognition of the importance of writing and communications to the vitality of the profession. ???????(R)?EUR??,,????'?EUR??,,?EUR My contribution to the profession has been to cover, for both professional and consumer magazines, the excellent work of landscape architects. This has hopefully served to educate designers and raise the status of landscape architecture in the public eye. ???????(R)?EUR??,,????'?EUR??,,?EUR It is a particular honor that several designers I have covered are being inducted with me this year. ???????(R)?EUR??,,????'?EUR??,,?EUR It is their work and their willingness to discuss it that is the basis for my election.
