Through his ASLA leadership, Sibelius has become the most readily recognized member of his chapter. Among the continuing education opportunities he has developed for his chapter are an annual green conference, national insurance programs, risk management seminars, and grant funding for college students. His participation in lobbying efforts helped significantly in the passage of a Colorado practice law and establishment of Colorado Landscape Architecture Week. He was instrumental in making the Colorado Chapter Professional Design Awards Program a model for ASLA chapters everywhere.
