Alistair McIntosh?EUR??,,????'?????< landscape design philosophy is based on three interrelated concepts: the historic and geographical circumstances of the particular site, which is the starting point for the process of placemaking; the forms of human use and how they shape the occupation of civic spaces; and the act of construction, which achieves the tangible reality of meaningful landscape design. His range of key projects includes the Indianapolis waterfront park and open space system, the Hudson River Park in New York City, and Schenley Plaza in Pittsburgh. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Graduate School of Design.
