Most notable professional accomplishments: My most significant accomplishment is the policy and project work that I have done to help preserve cultural landscapes in the national park system. I began to work with the National Park Service at a time when the field of landscape preservation was just emerging. As such, my early work with the agency was focused on establishing a foundation for professional practice regarding cultural landscape preservation. In addition, during the past 17 years I have had the incredible opportunity to provide direct support to national parks across the country in preserving and managing some of our nation?EUR??,,????'???s most outstanding landscapes. Our national parks are often considered one of the best ideas America ever had and it has been extremely rewarding to play a role in revealing how cultural landscapes can assist in telling the story of these special places.

Thoughts on being elected to Council of Fellows: Becoming a Fellow is an incredible honor and recognition by my peers that my career in cultural landscape preservation has made a significant contribution to the field of landscape architecture. This recognition is poignant given the passion and pride that I have for my work. During my career, I have consistently advocated for the leadership role of landscape architects in cultural landscape preservation, and becoming a Fellow challenges me to be a stronger advocate for the profession. I also hope that being a Fellow will allow me greater opportunities to mentor young students and professionals so we can expand the pool of individuals practicing in this area of the field.
