Most notable professional accomplishments: As an educator, I have derived a lot of vicarious satisfaction and pride in the professional accomplishments of my former students. Seeing their contributions of design, management, scholarship and leadership as the natural outcome of professional development initiated as a student is quite gratifying. Teaching activities have focused on integrating digital technologies to landscape architectural education and the advocacy of critical research skills for graduate landscape architecture students. My contributions to the profession have included being a founding member of Sigma Lambda Alpha (the Landscape Architecture Honor Society) and serving two terms as president of that organization, presidency of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, serving as a Chair of several LAAB accreditation teams, and a variety of leadership responsibilities in three different ASLA chapters over the years.

Thoughts on being elected to Council of Fellows: Being named a Fellow is quite fulfilling and flattering, especially since it comes from peers. For me, it signifies confirmation and appreciation that my contributions to the advancement of the professional discipline of landscape architecture and the stewardship of our environment are recognized and valued. Years ago, an ASLA leader made the assertion that a person shouldn?EUR??,,????'???t join the Society for what they can get out of it but for what they can do for it. Fellowship is an indication that I have been able to contribute something meaningful to landscape architecture.
