Most notable professional accomplishments: Led the establishment, design and programming at the 435-acre North Carolina Arboretum which is an affiliate of the 16-campus University of North Carolina system. Served as president of the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta (AABGA), now known as the American Public Gardens Association (APGA).

Thoughts on being elected to Council of Fellows: It is an honor to be a part of the profession of landscape architecture and to be associated with professionals who, now and historically, have maintained stewardship and quality of life improvement as the critical path of their careers. It is certainly humbling and gratifying to be noted by my peers and mentors as having made worthy contributions during my own career.
