Most notable professional accomplishments:

• There is a compelling sense of common environmental purpose in the Meadowlands, from the head of our agency, to professional staff, to the grounds crews, and to the public visitors and users of the space we created. There is a very clear sense of accomplishment and an almost daily wonder felt by watching an ecosystem restore itself with our prodding. I wish we could take credit for that.

Thoughts on being elected to Council of Fellows:As a public servant, individual accolades are rare. When it comes like this, it is very humbling. Fellows are the gray eminence in our profession, worldly, wise and accomplished. I don't necessarily feel any of those qualities, so it is humbling to realize that others feel your efforts are on the same plane.
