• Professionally, I guess I can sum it up with three memories. The first is the squeal of a delighted child playing in a park that I have created. The second is to see someone moved to tears when they experience a place that I have designed. And third, it's corny, but to feel that my body of work in some way makes our world a better place.

Thoughts on being elected to Council of Fellows:It is an amazing honor and I am humbled to be selected as part of this elite group of professionals. To have my work recognized by the Council of Fellows as significant inspires me to continue to learn and continue to become a better landscape architect and steward of the land. This is not something that I have accomplished alone, though; I am sharing this honor with the many bright and talented employees at my firm, the Schmidt Design Group, Inc., both past and present.
