She was offered the first landscape architecture position in the district's design branch. When the general engineering section created its first permanent landscape architecture position, she was hired to fill it. Previously, landscape architects worked on master plans, recreation plans, visual analysis, preliminary conceptual design, and planting plans that responded to the civil engineers' site designs. * President, Minnesota ASLA Chapter Quote: "I enjoy being a liaison between landscape architecture and my colleagues within the Corps of Engineers.
