Joseph Crystal, FASLA Project Manager National Park Service Denver, Colorado University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MLA ASLA Merit Award for Planning 1997 Gateway Community Planning Assistance, Sitka, Alaska Category: Administrative Work "As a Landscape Architect with the National Park Service, I've done projects in many significant scenic and historic landscapes. One of my recent favorites is the restoration of the Boyhood Farm at Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, Georgia. The discovery of missing or lost features through landscape archeology, oral interviews and often just dumb luck is always challenging-like a treasure hunt. Also, the opportunity to have worked with former President and Mrs. Carter is an experience that I'll always treasure."
