Hargreaves and his firm have received 20 national awards from the ASLA, 4 from the Waterfront Center and 2 from progressive Architecture. He is Chair and Professor in Practice of the Department of Landscape Architecture. He is Chair and Professor in Practice of the Depaertment of Landscape Architecture at Harvard's Design school, where he has taught since 1986. Hargreaves has served on juries for the American Academy in Rome, the AIA and the ASLA, and has chaired the 1998 ASLA Professional Awards jury and the Urban Design and Landscape Architecture jury for the U.S. President Awards 2000.
