Upon Graduating from the university of Georgia Russell Adsit wasted no time in starting his own business. In 1976 he started Adsit Landscape and Design Firm, Inc., in Memphis, Tennessee where he has been the owner and president for the last 39 years. Through his career Adsit has been recognized for his contributions to society with numerous and prestige awards. Such awards include the Outstanding Small Business of the Year award in Memphis, Tennessee in 1981, the Outstanding Business Volunteer award in Memphis, Tennessee in 1988, and much more. He had received twelve awards for his contributions before he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects. in 1992.
