Just adjacent to the ?EUR??,,????'??London Eye,?EUR??,,????'?? the giant Ferris wheel on the east bank of the Thames where the river bends southward in the Borough of Lambeth, is what used to be Jubilee Gardens, a public park created in 1977 to honor the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II.

The site is currently undergoing a ????????1.5 million redevelopment to transform what was basically a large lawn into ?EUR??,,????'??world-class park?EUR??,,????'?? in time for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

The project is just one public space improvement project underway in six London boroughs to spruce up the old town for the Games. London Mayor Boris Johnson recently announced ????????11.5 million in funding for these public space projects.

The Jubilee Gardens design is by West 8, an award-winning international office for urban design and landscape architecture founded in 1987. West 8's main office is at the port of Rotterdam, with branch offices in Belgium, New York and Toronto.
