City repairmen Ed Birch, left, and Dave McGrath remove a damaged piece of a diorama from the Esther Short Park belltower Thursday. The three-scene diorama depicts a Chinook Indian legend that told of the relationships among salmon, the river and man. A worn gear assembly caused one of the doors to remain open, and someone threw an object at the scene. The assembly ?EUR??,,????'??+ known as a glockenspiel ?EUR??,,????'??+ will be out of service for a month.
?EUR??,,????'??We?EUR??,,????'???ve done maintenance inside the tower,?EUR??,,????'?? but have never had to remove a component for repairs, facilities supervisor Ron Anderson said.
