Beechwood Landscape Architecture and Construction in Southampton, N.J., designed the "Fallen Heroes" firefighters memorial in Shamong, N.J. The 2-foot steel beam remnant from the World Trade Center was sent to the Indian Mills Fire Co., by the New Jersey governor's office. EP Henry in Woodbury, N.J., donated pavers and wall blocks for the memorial foundation. Superior Landscape and Lawn Care in Shamong installed the pavers. Sharpless Surfaces and Surroundings dug the footings and installed the irrigation system. Springersbrook provided labor to plant flowers and plants. Wharton Landscape Supplies, owned by Ed Moniot, vice-president and fire chief at Indian Mills Fire Co., donated stone, mulch and trucking.

EP Henry, a family-owned and operated manufacturer of unit concrete products based in Woodbury, N.J., has contributed $325,000 since 2012 in materials, labor and monetary contributions to its "HeroScaping" program, which benefits veterans' charities, and donates to military memorials and other worthy projects. The manufacturer announces it will continue the program throughout 2014.

"As a family company with three former owners having served in the armed forces, we're honored to support those who serve our country," said EP Henry CEO, J.C. Henry. "The goal for our third year of the HeroScaping program is to continue to increase the number of people and communities that we can positively impact."

For 2014, for every contractor-installed project registered for EP Henry's lifetime warranty, the manufacturer will make a donation in the homeowner's name to one of two prequalified charities, including Fisher House and the National Military Family Association.

A significant part of HeroScaping is the donation of products. Designers, contractors and other landscape related companies and professionals also donate their services to repair and improve the outdoor living spaces of military families, and community locations in need of rebuilding or constructing, including veterans' monuments, memorials, municipal buildings and school parks. Any member of the community can nominate a project they feel is deserving.

P Henry (www.ephenry.com) was founded in 1903. Their pavers were the choice for reconstruction of the Liberty Island (Statue of Liberty) walkway, following the damage wrought by Hurricane Sandy.
