Expanded Metal is manufactured from sheet metal which is slit and stretched into a non-raveling unit of uniformed openings. This adds strength while producing no waste. It allows flow of air, fluid or light to go through and is used in applications such as enclosures, racks, shelving, building facades, etc. with just about any type of metal.

Glen Ellyn, Ill. ?EUR??,,????'??+ The Expanded Metals Manufacturers Association (EMMA) states that expanded metal is used in many new security applications. Security products such as expanded metal fencing are the latest and hottest of them.

This fencing is designed to meet a range of applications from perimeter demarcation or public safety to the highest level of security. It can be tailored to suit any security need, whether it is replacing an existing fence or constructing a new one. Some common security applications for expanded metal fencing are; utilities, airports, roads, retail, metro housing, railroads, prisons and power plants.

Hot dip galvanized material is an option with polyester powder coating so the fencing can either blend into the background or be turned into an eye catching feature. Expanded metal fencing features good through-vision, clean lines while being difficult to penetrate and scale. It provides a substantially more secure and cost effective alternative to chainlink fencing while providing easy installation and long life expectancy.

Additional expanded metal security products would include safety screens and window guards where theft and high risk areas are a concern plus cages, lath, security mesh and partitions for uses on the interior & exterior of facilities. As with any expanded metal security application, an architectural or decorative element can be added with just about any type of metal.
