The Environmental Institute for Golf has received a $10,000 endowment fund donation from Aquatrols, founded in 1955, which honors company founder Robert A. Moore. Moore was a strong advocate for GCSAA until his passing in 2010 and was a GCSAA member for more than 50 years. He had articles published in the association's flagship publication, Golf Course Management, beginning in 1957. The endowment in his name funds research specifically aimed at optimizing the growing environment for golf course turf, with specific goals for increasing the effectiveness of applied water, fertilizers and pesticides, thereby reducing total requirements. "The Robert A. Moore Endowment fund recognizes Bob's legacy and Aquatrols' ongoing commitment to further improving sustainable management of the growing environment," GCSAA and EIFG CEO Rhett Evans said. "For nearly six decades, GCSAA and our members have benefited from the work of Bob Moore and his company." For more information about EIFG, please visit eifg.org.
