Economic Indicators for the Spring

 

For the month of March the Unemployment Rate went up to 8.5 percent, while Payroll Employment lowered by -663,000. Unemployment Initial Claims were at 654,000 for the week of April 4, while the four-week average was 657,250.

Department of Labor came out with some mixed results for the months of February and March. Consumer Price Index rose +0.4 percent in the month of February, while the U.S. Import Price Index went up half a point in March. In the fourth quarter of 2008 productivity fell by ?EUR??,,????'???0.4 percent. Producer Price Index increase by +0.1 percent in February.
