Dr. Marihelen Glass Recognized by AHS

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A Great American Gardeners award was given to Dr. Marihelen Glass, a professor of horticulture at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, by the American Horticultural Society . The award given to Glass was one of 17 national awards given out by the AHS, one of which was given to entertainer Bette Midler. Glass will receive her award in the category of teaching.

Glass has been with NC A&T State University since 1987. She currently serves as the program coordinator for A&T's Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Program.

"Dr. Glass has been a very visible force on the campus, as well as nationally and internationally, in promoting landscape architecture and horticulture, as well as biotechnology," said Dr. Alton Thompson, Dean of A&T's School of Agriculture and Environmental and allied Sciences.
