In Ontario and British Columbia, landscape architects are require to undergo a two-year internship and pass the provincial registration exam (and, of course, to have a degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program). Elsewhere in Canada, a landscape architect generally needs ?EUR??,,????'??two years of landscape design experience and an interview by their respective provincial associations to receive association certification,?EUR??,,????'?? according to the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.

The accredited programs in Canada are the University of British Columbia (MLA); University of Guelph in Ontario (BLA, MLA); University of Manitoba, Winnipeg (MLA); University of Montreal (BLA); and the University of Toronto, Ontario (MLA).
