The Landscape Architect and Specifier News introduces a new department to the magazine. This department will feature a detail every issue as a means to help Landscape Architects with specific design solutions.

LASN would like to invite Landscape Architects and suppliers to submit specific design details of standard or unique situations. We request that details submitted have been used successfully on projects and that they be accompanied by a photo of a project in the detailed area. Send your details, a brief description and photos to LASN, P.Q Box 1654, Costa Mesa, CA 92628.

This month?EUR??,,????'???s detail was submitted by John Innes of John K. Innes, Inc. Thousand Oaks, California, and Jill Jameson of LANDCADD, Franktown, CO, 80116.

Low Stucco Garden Wall

This detail was used on a residential project in which the garden was constructed adjacent to the house. The stucco texture of the wall matches the texture of the lower section of the house. Varying the block size (as shown in the above detail), will add an interesting effect if properly done.

Fill With Retaining Walls

JKI uses this detail and other similar details often for preservation of native oaks and other larger trees. This detail is useful in restoration and redevelopment projects. JKI does most of our details on 8.5 by 11?EUR??,,????'?? sheets then reduces the details 50 percent and attaches them to the plans.

Planting Specifications

The following detail is similar to the one above except it is applied through the AutoCadd using a LandCadd construction detail disk. These disks contain more than 600 details which may be modified to fit a given project. Lettering on each detail is the same and remains uniform. More information can be received from LandCadd at (303) 688-8160.
