ValleyCrest notes a recent study at Pennsylvania State University found that design-build delivered, on average, a 30 percent improvement in project delivery speed, a 13 percent reduction in unit cost, a greater chance of finishing within five percent of budget, and a higher probability of achieving quality objectives.

One year later, the company reports the decision to grow its design-build sector via third-party landscape architects has resulted in $30 million in significant new, large-scale design-build projects.

Historical mitigation and landscape construction at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla. (SiteWorks Studio, landscape architect).

Los Angeles County Museum of Art/Eli Broad Gallery and Sculpture Garden (Comstock Studio, landscape architect), architect Renzo Piano, environmental artist Robert Irwin.

Kenilworth Sports Complex, Coolidge, Ariz. (Logan Simpson Design, landscape architect).

Kennecott Land?EUR??,,????'???s sustainable, master-planned green community and park system, South Jordan, Utah (G. Brown Designs, landscape architect).

Johns Creek Environmental Campus, Roswell, Georgia (HGOR, landscape architect).

Other studios within the design group are HRP Studio, Orange County, Calif.; JamesHyatt Studio, Denver, Colo.; and Phil Graham Studio, St. Petersburg, Fla.
