Denne Goldstein was a member of the green industry for over 60 years and began his first magazine in the late 70s. He was inducted into the Green Industry Hall of Fame in 2008 and became a consultant in 2018 until his death on April 21st, 2023.

Founder and Publisher of Irrigation & Green Industry Magazine, Denne Goldstein, was 92 years old when he died on April 21st, 2023, in Los Angeles, California.

According to the Green Industry Hall of Fame, Denne Goldstein, publisher of Irrigation & Green Industry magazine, was the 2002 recipient of the prestigious "Meridian Award." The Meridian Award is the top honor presented to landscape professionals by the Orange County/Long Beach Chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association. Goldstein began his career in the turfgrass industry 40 years ago. In 1968, he started a lawn care company and was one of the first in Southern California to take and pass the Pest Control Advisor's exam. He obtained his C-27 state landscape license in the early '70s.

In 1977, Goldstein launched his first magazine, followed by four other green industry publications. His was the first magazine to feature irrigation, and to promote Xeriscape after it was conceived in Orange County, California, in the mid '80s. He also helped start the Landscape Industry Show, held each year in Long Beach, California. In 1995, Goldstein and his son, Ira, launched the first irrigation and green industry website, Irrigation & Green Industry Network (www.igin.com) which now has more than 5,500 pages of databases and information. In 1998, he and his family introduced the first issue of Irrigation & Green Industry magazine. Goldstein is an outspoken proponent of professionalism in the green industry. He has been instrumental in providing the means to promote, educate and inform landscape contractors through his publication.

He was inducted into the Green Industry Hall of Fame in 2008.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28th at 11:30am PDT at Mount Sinai in Los Angeles, California.
