The ICPI-NCMA Vice President of Research and Development, David Smith, announced that he will be soon leaving the newly combined association. ICPI-NCMA, made up of the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), and the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI), represent a large segment of the pavement industry and work closely with many organizations and agencies.

 

Throughout his 29-year career, first with ICPI, then with ICPI-NCMA, Smith worked with these places to advocate for interlocking pavement as a superior option to other types of pavement. Smith was the original creator of the Concrete Paver Installer course and certification among a few other notable courses. He also served as editor for multiple magazines within the industry.
